A bespoke original cushion hand made with artist linen I discovered at the back of an art store while visiting a friend in Taiwan. As it was originally destined for a gallery wall I knew I had to create something special with this fabric, respecting the time and beauty of an original artwork that would no longer grace it’s textured canvas.

Using traditional Japanese shibori techniques I masked off areas of the fabric to act as a resist when I popped it in a pot of natural Indigo dye. I then picked out unique details from the shibori pattern using another traditional Japanese technique, sashiko stitching in dip dyed silk thread to produce a gradual colour variation as I hand stitched. The result gives a beautiful hand formed feel to the final tribal style pattern.

Perfect for adding an original boho, eco friendly feel to your home décor in your lounge room, bedroom or nursery, use as a floor cushion or share the love as a gift for your best friend. Take on relaxing picnics in the park or lounging on the beach with a good book…or just daydreams!

Yes this is the one and only of this pattern and style, just waiting for you!

This listing is for the cushion cover only (insert is not included because it makes the shipping crazy!)
